Wow. That was BAD.

Where to start. Mike Brown's still non-existent offense? LeBron not driving to the hole at all the entire game? Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones playing way too many minutes? Nah. Let's start with this: The Dallas Mavericks are a Championship caliber team. The Cavs are not. They got flat-out beat. I see a lot of the same problems this team had last year, starting with Larry Hughes shooting low-percentage shots again. Also, why is it that Z has an amazing first-half, and only gets 3 shots in the entire second half? I just can't seem to grasp anything Mike Brown is trying to do. He's never been an offensive coach, but it's on the verge of pathetic. LeBron was in foul trouble all night long, and the Cavs were double digits down from halfway through the first quarter until the end of the game. Not a good start at all.

But, how about some positives. Umm...Ilgauskas had 17 points and 18 rebounds. Outside of that, I can't find anything else. Gibson still has that sweet stroke from outside, so I guess that's good. Oh well. Hopefully on Friday the Cavaliers look more promising, and can take care of business against the New York Knicks. If not, it looks like it might be a long season.

But hey, just remember...it's only one game.

It's Here! Opening Night!

The time has finally come. Tonight is Opening Night for the Cavs. They face a tough opponent in the Dallas Mavericks, but hopefully they can come out and take care of business. On a side note, the Cavs are possibly looking into signing Earl Boykins, which I think would be a smart move. Boykins would be great off the bench, and would be a good leader of the team, because he's been in the league for such a long time.

Also, yesterday the Cavs finally signed Sasha to a 3-year contract, so hopefully he can be ready and suited for tonights game. Pavlovic was a huge spark all last season when he actually got playing time, so hopefully we can see Pavs get some minutes tonight. Looks like it's gonna be a great game, so "getcha popcorn ready," and don't eat too much candy! I'll be back with postgame thoughts later tonight.

Welcome to the 07-08 Cavaliers Season!

Alright...I set up a blog, so I could let out my anger (i.e. "thoughts") about the Cleveland Cavaliers throughout the season. On Halloween, the Cavs open the season at home, against the Dallas Mavericks where they will raise the 2006-2007 Eastern Conference Champs banner. Has a nice ring to it, but it's not the ultimate goal.

Needless to say, we got our asses handed to us in the Finals by San Antonio. That's a HELL of a team down there. Either way, a new season is upon us, and everyone is already counting the Cavs out. I love it. Yes, I'm aware we didn't make any blockbuster trades to help out LBJ, and I'm aware that we still haven't resigned Varejao or Pavs, but we still do have that guy named LeBron.

With that being said, welcome to the 2007-2008 season, and enjoy the ride! I'll talk to you all again on Halloween.
